Introduction
Hello Everyone, My Name is Princess. I am a Senior from South Florida studying Media Communications and Editing, Writing, & Media. I am also working on getting my minor in Education. My favorite things to do are reading, shopping, and scrolling through Twitter. I also enjoy binge-watching, some of my favorite shows are You, The Office, New Girl, Game of Thrones, Insecure, and Parks and Recreation. On campus, I am involved in SGA through the Women Student Union and am also a tour guide. I also have a podcast called Tea With P. :)
Technology
As an Editing, Writing, & Media major I have been encouraged to use technology in creative and new ways to create projects and assignments. I think that the major has helped me to become comfortable with Technology especially as it pertains to creative projects. I have created websites, documentaries, podcasts, and other creative projects using technology. With that being said I think that I have basic skills on technology and moderate skills on social media and creative sites, but I still need to learn more about Technology as it relates to schools and teaching.
I hope to learn more about technology in general and how it used in the classroom from a teachers perspective. I only have knowledge from a students perspective, so I want to know if there is anything that may differ. Do Teachers have different tricks or tips for teaching with powerpoint? How do Teachers use excel for grading? What ways can we incorporate social media and fun technology into our classrooms? Does technology in the classroom look different at different grades in school? Overall I would just like a broader understanding of how to be a teacher who relates to their students through technology and uses all of her resources in the classroom.

Wow! You may be my TA during this semester. :-) If you've used Twitter just for news updates till now, you will find some other ways to use it in education.
ReplyDeleteIt is awesome how experienced you are with education technology! It will really benefit you in the future. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's super cool that you are a Media & Communications major and Education minor -- I am too! I am really interested to see how the technology we learn about in this class relates to our Comm classes.
